TRUMAN: A 2 year old Border Collie, Truman is friendly, outgoing and happy to be with people. He also loves other BC friends, racing, chasing and playing. He is a lively boy who enjoys a good chase game but also settles well once inside. Truman is smart and focused but not overly intense. He is good natured and curious about everything going on around him. He is about 35 pounds and good with cats. He came to the Farm from a VA guardian who could no longer keep him. 

LIAM: An 8 month old Border Collie with ABCA papers, Liam is a very smart guy who likes a challenge. He is clearly good at observing what goes on around him and he wants to make sense of it all but he does need a very savvy BC guardian to help him. Liam can get in over his head, over stimulated by new things so a good guardian who is oriented to positive training and shaping his behaviors, will do well with him. He is brilliant. Liam is learning all about toys and very interested. He is not yet tested on cats. He was surrendered directly to the Farm. 

JETT: A 6 month old old Border Collie, Jett is a remarkable little guy, so focused and present, clearly on a mission. He is smart and observes everything around him, eager to be involved. Jett is very intense, high energy and busy, busy, busy. He is sweet as they come but will need savvy BC guardians since he is looking for a job to do. He'll be happiest in an active home and with another BC friend for play, to help manage his energy needs.  He is completely healthy and raring to go. Jett is OK with dog savvy cats.  Jett came from the NY area when guardians surrendered him to our vet due to illness.  Jett loves the water and his trail walks, a happy guy with lots of energy!

FLETCH: An 1 yr old Border Collie mix, Fletch landed in a sea of Border Collies and hasn't looked back since, having the time of his little life running and chasing and playing!! He loves the dogs and would easily enjoy a canine companion or even two. He is fantastic with other dogs and feels most comfortable with dogs friends. He's gotten some of the older BC's playing chase games again, very cute to see. Fletch is a bit shy with people at first so needs a fairly calm home that is more dog oriented than full of visitors.  He  will need confidence building, over time, with a patient guardian.  He's the sweetest little guy, full of puppy innocence and having a great time discovering the great outdoors. He is about 30 pounds, typical in size for his age and is good with cats. 

BO: A 2 year old Border Collie, Bo is Mr Friendly, liking everyone he meets and hoping for a ball toss! He's quickly become the Farm favorite, even amidst so many nice BC's here. He is smart, focused, responsive and eager to bond. He really wants a person who can connect with him, do things with him and enjoy a close friendship. Bo is a classic BC who needs activities, not overly intense, but very active for sure. He is good with other dogs but happiest with a person who will play with him. He is about 40 pounds and not yet tested on cats. He was a stray in PA in a shelter that thankfully works with GHF. He is a really great boy. 

ZOE: A 4 month old Border Collie needed a new place to go where her energy could be channeled into something productive. Lucky for her, she lived right near one of our intake team so when our volunteer went to meet her, she took her home so little Zoe would have more home time before her adoption. Of course, Zoe had other plans and charmed everyone in the family instantly so she never left! She has already tried tracking, been swimming and hiking and will get to try agility too, as she joins her canine friend, Arrow, who thinks she's fabulous too! Zoe now lives in NY and we'll get to see a lot of her!

ROZE: A 4 year old Border Collie, Roze is amazing. She's focused, fun and fast and loves to work which means ball play. She is very agile and very intelligent so could learn anything. She also settles beautifully once inside but absolutely needs that stimulation of a toy playing BC home. Roxe is very driven and very active, great off leash and would be a wonderful hiking partner. She is good with other dogs and likes to herd them but once a person shows up, she's eager to play. Roze is a 'soft' BC so does best with positive motivation, not correction.  She'll do best with an active guardian but not a chaotic home. She would enjoy a young male BC for racing, chasing and making up herding games. She is about 40 pounds. Roze was abandoned at a NJ shelter.

Teachers arrive in all shapes and sizes in our lives and this boy Reno, was a master. A spirited guy with tons of will, we are glad he came to us. We spent six months watching him renew and heal, leading to this moment of departure.

RENO: A 10 -11 year old Border Collie, Reno is full of spunk and likes to do things his way! He is spirited and sweet and like many senior BC's, quite the character. He likes to trot along checking everything out and perks right up to see other BC's. He can move pretty fast even though his back end is a bit weak cause he's full of determination. Reno can sees great though is deaf at this point, probably due to old age. He is 46 pounds and not yet tested on cats. He was found wandering outdoors one morning in upstate NY. The shelter works with GHF so he quickly came to the Farm. 

BISHOP: a 1-1/2 year old border collie, Bishop is a wonderful classic border collie. He has a nice balanced energy level, active and playful but content to settle down too.  He's very smart and thinks things through and is almost always willing to try new experiences.  Bishop was part of the Texas confiscation, and his wonderful temperament and brave spirit have enabled him to bounce back and greet life head on!  He is sweet, kind, polite, gentle and fun - he loves to play with toys and will toss them around on his own for entertainment, flipping them in the air with so much joy.  He loves other dogs of all shapes and sizes, and loves to herd too!  Bishop is about 35 pounds and is not good with cats.  He came from a Texas confiscation.

BECKETT: A 2 year old, Beckett is boldly checking out the Farm and interested in learning new things

DOT: A 2 year old Border Collie, Dot is a doll. She loves people and loves to be involved in whatever is going on around her. She is friendly, easy going and eager to connect. Dot is also energetic and loves to play with other BC's. She is a racer and chaser and fun to watch as she instigates play. She is fast and focused though more happy go lucky than needing an intense outlet for her energy. She is very smart and eager to please. Dot would be happiest with a male BC friend. She is about 35 pounds and is good with cats. She came from a guardian who could no longer meet her needs. 

SPROUT: An 11 week old Border Collie, little miss Sprout is a sweetheart and full of spunk! She is very cuddly but has quite an independent, opinionated nature and is already showing her bossy female side, very typical in female BC's. She is super smart and figures things out very quickly. Sprout is nervous around larger dogs but gaining confidence. She is inquisitive with toys and responsive to her person. Sprout has the typical energy level of a young BC and will only go to an experienced BC home that is ACTIVE with another BC, preferably male. Sprout is only 7 pounds at this age, very undersized for her age but she's a healthy, happy girl albeit quite petite. A dog lover stepped in to pull her out of a bad situation and is fostering her til she finds her new life.We are accepting applications now but Sprout is not quite ready for adoption. She will need a little more time in foster care.

I was born into chaos and utter despair

From that bad situation in Texas I flew on a plane
Glen Highland Farm where I had so much to gain

I found a small haven in the shade of a tree
Where my new mom and dad felt so sorry for me

So they asked dear Lillie if I could be fostered for a while - She said yes and they all shared a smile

I’ve been here awhile with the rest of the crew
We play and have fun. Who knew there was so much to do?

I have my own dish and a warm cushy bed
I met my new vet; she says I’m well fed

I greet every morning with my joyful howling song
Because I feel so happy that I have a place to belong

Now my mom and my dad think I should stay

SURIE: A 1 1/2 year old, Surie is gorgeous and curious but holds back til she has the safety of another dog she knows.  It takes her time to warm up and gain trust.  She came from the Texas confiscation.

HALIE: A 2 year old Border Collie, Halie is a love-bug and ball nut, a great combination of fun and sweetness. She is very smart and very eager to bond, loving everyone she meets. She likes to play with any toy tossed her way including a frisbee. She's good with other dogs but more oriented to interaction with her person. She is very good natured and while active, not overly intense. Halie is fine with cats and about 50 pounds, carrying a bit of weight that will drop off with more activity. She came to rescue due to her PA guardian's change in life and a move. 

FRANKLIN: A 2 year old Border Collie, Franklin is a sweet guy who is curious about life and what goes on around him. He can be a bit timid sometimes but gets over that quickly when he has a BC friend with him. He is smart and affectionate and can easily blossom with the right guardian. Franklin mixes well with other BC's but especially the girls. He loves to play and pair up with a friend, so will only be placed with another dog in the family. He is about 40 pounds and is good with cats. Franklin came to rescue along with his littermates, Kennedy and Truman and his father, Oakley. The VA guardian could no longer care for them. 

SALLIE:  A 4 year old Border Collie, Sallie is a sweetheart. She is very friendly with everyone and loves attention and comes up closely to say hello and sticks by your side, wherever she goes. She is a smart girl and likes to check out everything around her plus she's quite the herder. Since she gets a overly excited herding other dogs, we want to place her as a solo dog where she can enjoy the focus of her person and a close relationship. Sallie is really enjoying the freedom at the farm, to run, play and go on walks. Sallie was abandoned at a shelter by a breeder, along with the male of the pair, once the breeder didn't want them.  All of the dogs were confiscated from the breeder and then returned except these two the MD breeder no longer wanted. It is very common for less than ethical breeders to cast off mature breeding pairs in favor of younger dogs.  They were about to be euthanized when a rescue colleague stepped in to help them.  Sallie is about 40 pounds and is good with dog savvy cats.

PERCIE found the right place with people who really understand her - they love the breed!  She drew their attention quickly as they thought about another canine BC friend and once they met her, it was in very quick order that she clearly won their hearts. She'll have all their attention and love plus non-stop BC fun on a great property with plenty to explore!  She now lives in CT.

PERCIE: A 9 year old Border Collie with ABCA papers, Percie is a sweetheart, absolutely gorgeous and smart. She is very very friendly and loves to be in the middle of everything.  She's not a big toy girl but she is clearly keeping track of her people and all that goes on.  She loves to go for hikes and is great off leash, a simple whistle brings her right back. Percie is a joy to be with and fits nicely into new situations, with other dogs or as the solo dog. Like all senior BC's, she wants to be with her person more than left alone.   She is not good with cats and is about 35 pounds.  Percie was given up due to a move. Her NY guardians could not take her.

BLANE: A 5 month old border collie (or possibly mix), Blane is a happy guy! He is outgoing, sweet, smart, and all about being with his person.He is gentle and cuddly! He loves dogs, all kinds of toys, and water! He leaps up for the water shooting out from the hose, splashes in the kiddy pool, very funny to see. He has a balanced energy level, active and determined but also able to relax when play time is over. He is focused and eager to please, and would love a close relationship with a person. Blane is 26 pounds, about average for the breed. He is best with dog savvy cats. Blane came from a rescue in Kuwait.

LADY: A 6 year old Border Collie, Lady is a love. She is smart, good natured and friendly with everyone. She has been a well loved family member since a pup so enjoys all the attention that comes her way. She is easy going and very eager to please. Lady landed in rescue when her elderly guardian went into assisted living. She is from NY and now being fostered in CT. She has gained weight over the past few months so will be dieting. Lady does not get along with cats.

RYLEE came to the Farm and quickly met a wonderful couple who wanted a friend for their BC, Kip, and Rylee happily got the vote! She and Kip decided that life together could be sweet and easy, no squabbles and just a great experience of playing, exploring and being loved, somewhat like a sweet older married couple! These two made a great pair. Rylee now lives in NJ and is the constant companion to her FurMom!

RYLEE: A 6 year old Border Collie/Aussie mix, Rylee is a love! She is so friendly and eager to be with people - absolutely the sweetest girl.  She is also gorgeous - the pictures don't capture her beautiful markings. She also loves toys and will enjoy lots of fun throws as well as frisbee.  She has all kinds of cute tricks she loves to do for attention but more than that, she wants to hang with her person in whatever activity is underway.  She is smart and easy going but energy for play. Rylee is great with kids and used to being part of a family.   She is trained on the invisible fence and good with cats. Rylee is also good with other dogs but mostly focused on interactions with people. She is a bit overweight due to inactivity from the guardian's focus on their toddlers.  She came directly to the Farm from her NY home, where she lived since a pup. 

BLAIR: A 5 month old border collie (or possibly mix), Blair is a blast! He is very smart and would love to have a job to do. He is brave, athletic, and has great structure. He would be a good candidate for sports like frisbee or agility. He loves to play in the water hose, timing his leaps perfectly to grab the water. Blair also settles nicely, happy to curl up close by, and even happier to snuggle with his person. He also loves playing with other dogs. His coat appears brown, but it is just sunburned puppy fur, and will be black with new growth. Blair is 23 pounds, about average for the breed, and has not been tested with cats. Blair came from a rescue in Kuwait.

RUBY: A 5 month old Border Collie, Ruby loves to play, racing around at high speed in chase games with her dog friends at the Farm. She is all action and the happiest with a pal. SHe is smart and responsive to people, very food oriented and ready to learn whatever you want to teach her. SHe is quite affectionate and loves everyone she meets. Ruby is about 25 pounds and typical in size for her age. She will do best with dog savvy cats. Ruby was relinquished to the Farm from a NY guardian who could not meet her needs while living in an apartment in the city. 

COREY: A 6 month old Border Collie, Corey is a gentle soul who loves affection and blossoms with reassurance. He is a soft boy who wants to be with people, happy to nuzzle you for attention and be by your side. He gains confidence with his person AND with other canine friends so will be placed with another buddy for sure. He absolutely loves to play with other dogs though does best with a young, outgoing dog for running, chasing and wrestling games. He isn't show herding interest so easily fits in with dogs who love to run. Corey will flourish in a calmer home devoted to building his trust in all the things in life, being great. He is about 30 pounds and will chase cats, but not hurt them. He was surrendered to the Farm by a dog lover who got him out of a bad situation to be sure he could have a good life, then gave him to GHF. 

SWOOP: A 2 1/2 month old Border Collie, Swoop lived up to his name the minute he landed at the Farm. He headed out into the seven acre field for a great run, truly having a blast, BC style! He of course met plenty other young BC's who thought he was a great little guy which of course he is...very very wonderful. Swoop is smart, adaptable, balanced and clearly a guy who can tackle whatever is in front of him, calmly with confidence. A very special pup, he will only go to a BC savvy home. 

MUNDEE: A 4 year old Border Collie, Mundee is a fabulous toy girl! She can catch anything and is fast as can be to bring it back. She loves to play endlessly and she'll entertain herself with her favorite toys, too. She is a really sweet, good natured cuddler who can relax with you or be all action, ready to go. Plus, she's smart as a whip and eager to be with her person learning anything. Mundee is best with submissive dogs or great as a solo dog since like many female BC's, she's the leader. She is about 40 pounds and good with cats. She came from a shelter in PA when she was abandoned at a shelter due to a move.

ROXEE: This little spitfire is already showing her bold nature, ready to race over to anyone and check out anything. She is clearly going to be a confident girl who enjoys lots of action. Roxee is cuddly and sweet as well but loves the action.

NEILA: A petite 1 year old Border Collie, Neila is a very smart girl who loves to focus her energy on learning or doing something, even sheepherding which she tried at camp! She's all about an activity that challenges her. She is also super sweet with everyone she meets and very affectionate. Neila is good with other BC's but best with a male since she has some controlling female tendencies with other dogs, very common in the breed. She is about 25 pounds and fine with cats. Neila will not be placed on an invisible fence system as she has many fears from her past situation with one.

IZZIE: A 1 year old Border Collie/Aussie mix, Izzie is a sweet, super smart action oriented girl. She loves to hike off leash and enjoys a good dunk in the water as she races around with other BC friends at the Farm. She is very very people oriented and would be happy to be with her person, as a constant companion. She loves toys too and enjoys a great game of retrieval anytime you are ready to play. Izzie is energetic, very typical for a herding dog. She lived in one home til a move from Montana to PA left her with a tinier yard and guardians with less time. She is best with dog savvy cats who are used to being herded though she looses interest fairly quickly. She is about 30 pounds. She has a gorgeous long coat though had a summer clip recently so her hair looks shorter. 

ZEKE: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Zeke is a very smart boy who wants to connect with his person and quickly responds to what is asked of him. He is a really sweet guy, super affectionate with people. He also loves toys! Zeke is a very energetic guy who needs someone to do something with him - ball play, hikes, even sports - but either way, he's not a lay around kind of BC. He loves to meet new people and does well with everyone.  He tends to be overly excited meeting new dogs so would do best as a solo dog and/ or with someone who can help handle dog introductions. Zeke is very eager to please and can be guided. While Zeke is a sweet, good natured guy, he will do best in a BC savvy home. He is about 45 pounds and good with cats. He was turned into a North Carolina shelter and then moved to a CT shelter so he would have a better chance to find his forever home. A shelter favorite, they were happy to see him come to rescue to find just the right BC home. 

JAYNA: A 1 1/2 year old, Jayna is very shy and of course, very beautiful. She is sweet but used to hiding when people are around so is learning new ways in her foster home now.

BANX: A 7 year old Border Collie, Banx loves to be with his person and easily settles into the routine of whatever you are doing, loving to be with you. He also loves to play with soccer balls and is quick to race and chase endlessly. Banx is very smart and observant, always eager to understand what's going on. He likes other dogs but could be happiest as a solo dog since he's so people oriented. He's lived in one home since a pup but a divorce led to this big change for him. Banx clearly wants to be back in a home where he is adored and someone's companion. He's a great boy who is affectionate and friendly. He is not good with cats. Banx came from PA and due to recent lack of exercise, he's got some extra weight. He was bought from a NJ breeder. 

BLEU: A petite 9 year old Border Collie, Bleu is easy going, good natured and ready to join in the action of play anytime! She loves the frisbee or any toy thrown her way and will play endlessly and focuses fast on the action. She is however, not a high energy BC so easily relaxes and fits into new situations. Bleu is super friendly, affectionate and great with other dogs. Her recall to return is great so could easily be a hiking companion. Bleu is also good in the car. She is good with cats. Bleu has lived in one home since a pup but a move left her abandoned in a NY shelter. She's carrying some extra weight which will easily come off. 

SADIE: An 11 year old Border Collie, Sadie is a brilliant girl who connects instantly with people. Her friendly nature is wonderful plus she's a classic BC with all the toy interest raring to go! She loves balls, frisbee and non-stop play though will fortunately now take a break when asked - we can just imagine this girl at age 1 and how energetic she was then cause she still can be now! Sadie is very easy to be with and adjusts easily to a new situation. She loves to be wherever her person is and stays close by your side with perfect recall to come and eagerness to please. Sadie is a wonderful, affectionate Border Collie. She is best suited to an adult household since that is what she is used to.  Sadie is good with cats and about 40 pounds She came directly to the Farm from a NH guardian who could not keep her. 

KANE: A 14 year old Border Collie, Kane is quite a character. He loves the outdoors and exploring every nook and cranny and is very happy to sit outside for hours on end on warm days. He is a retired golf course dog who chased geese so the great outdoors makes sense to him though he has not worked for the past three years. Kane is also quite content to curl up inside by you, laying quietly on the floor, enjoying the companionship of his person. He is fine with other dogs and cats though mostly focused on his person. He would enjoy a calmer life where he can keep track of his person and his yard, all a part of his new 'work'. Kane has been diagnosed with vestibular disease which gives his head a bit of a tilt but he gets around just fine and has recovered really well, which most dogs do. He is an adorable guy who would really love his own yard for exploring!  Kane was living at a NJ Golf Course, given minimal care and attention so he is really enjoying a life involved with people. He was originally sold by a VA breeder for thousands of dollars. 

The incredible RIDLE- such a mystery to look at and such a marvelous personality to be with - found his new life! He's on his way to a future with lots of outdoor fun -trail walks on the guardian's 25 acres in Nantucket MA plus another big acre property in NH. But, most importantly, he'll be totally cherished as their new companion and have his own canine buddy too! (not pictured)

RIDLE: This adorable boy  is gorgeous with such unique coloration. He is such a people oriented pup, happy to hang in your lap and be held for cuddles. Ridle is all about play, too, of course but is a more thoughtful, observant guy, checking out everything that is going on around him. He loves other dogs and is very good natured. 

And, now, he's going to give his heart full time to his new guardian who fell in love with him. She came to volunteer and it was Kade who got the first night in the adoption office. His charm and her kind, gentle ways made the perfect match, forever. We are all so incredibly happy for this wonderful boy and his new FurMom. 

A special thanks to Ashley Porter for pulling him out of an awful situation; for Lori Coon & her family who were his first fosterer and for the entire GHF caretakers who gave sweet Kade all that he needed to believe that a great life was his to have! 

Kade is going back to Vermont and will live the life he richly deserves. We will miss him.

KADE: A 1 year old Border Collie, Kade is a happy, good natured guy who really wants to have a blast in life and is learning that it's possible. He absolutely loves other dogs and needs a good canine friend for sure. He's super sweet and gentle but loves to play physically with other dogs so a good natured young dog is the right fit for him. Kade is a gorgeous boy in person and will blossom into a marvelous friend once he has more experiences in life. He is about 35 pounds and good with cats. He was relinquished to the Farm from a breeder who could not sell him. He is from VT. We feel a hard fence would be better than an invisible fence since this Kade is a soft dog who could become worried by the system.

ZIVA: A 2 year old Border Collie, Ziva is a love, full of kisses and wanting to be your friend. She's also focused and loves to herd other dogs as she races and chases around. She likes toys, too though loves to cuddle with her person just as much. Ziva can be a bit shy at first but once she feels comfortable, she is your best friend forever.  She is smart and eager to please.  Ziva is good with cats and about 40 pounds. She came to rescue due to her guardian's illness. She is from a breeder in NY.

DUNCAN: A 2 1/2 year old Border Collie, Duncan is a smart, observant boy who takes in everything around him, quickly. He then knows just what to do. He is a big toy boy and loves to engage instantly for a ball throw. He is very eager to please and wants to connect when he meets someone new though you can see he is a thinker, sorting out step by step what is expected of him. He is not chaotic and in fact, a very settled BC since he's thoughtful. He loves to run with the other dogs at the Farm but would be happiest as a solo dog. He is about 40 pounds and is not good with cats. He came to the Farm from a PA shelter. 

SARGE: Now, three months old, this sweet pup loves the action of puppy play and meeting other dogs. He is hilarious to watch as he interacts with all the adult dogs, so excited to race and chase and follow their lead. Sarge is very outgoing and eager to join in everything. He's confident, curious and really good natured. Sarge also loves cuddling and being with people, giving his puppy kisses easily. This little guy is one smart boy eager to enjoy life.  Sarge was abandon at a MD shelter.

SONNY: A 2 year old Border Collie, Sonny is a really sweet guy, very comfortable meeting people and eager to do so. He also loves toys and wants to enjoy lots of play but he's a cuddler, too. Sonny loves attention and being next to his person. He is smart and focused but not overly intense. He is great with other dogs, enjoying the play of a group or a canine friend. Sonny is not yet tested  on cats. He came to the Farm from a PA shelter. The b/w ticking on his face make his muzzle look very wide but it is not at all. 

DI (DIAMOND): A 6 year old Border Collie, Diamond is a doll. She absolutely loves everyone and every toy known to man! She'll play, play, play. She's smart as as whip and eager to please - a classic BC with lots of brains, lots of energy and great looks, too. Diamond is great with other dogs and enjoys being around them but most enjoys, having her person toss the ball her way. She's good off leash and would easily be a great hiking partner. Diamond was given up due to a divorce, from a PA guardian. 

KOBE: A 9 year old Border Collie, Kobe is so sweet. He is a gentle guy who enjoys people and dogs alike. He loves to explore the great outdoors and play with his jolly ball. He is great with other dogs, fitting in easily with any breed. Kobe is one of those wonderful mature BC's who adjusts to wherever he is and has found the Farm to be a great place for now! He is smart, good natured and connects to his person fast. His recall to return and check in when out walking is very good. Kobe is good with cats. He's a little bit overweight from inactivity coming from his recent guardian's situation. He came to the Farm from PA and been in one home since a pup.
