You Can Help

At  Glen Highland Farm, we've provided a special place for dogs and other animals that transition into death.  The recognition of their wonderful spirits and gifts to those that loved them is possible here.  Set among an ancient forest where towering pines rise to the sky, and deadened trunks and limbs lay quietly is The Garden of Resting Spirits.
A long pathway guides you into The Garden and a clearing that surrounds a wise, primeval pine soaring high above with nine gigantic limbs stretched up to meet the sun.

A natural wonder of beauty and strength.  This Healing Tree carries the energy for the Garden and all the spirits joined there.

Any animal is welcome, cremated or in bodily form or in memorial.  Letters, poems, toys and personal memorabilia related to your animal are included at the site.  And, visitors are welcome at any time.

The Garden is a place of peace and grace. There is an ease to the solitude with only wind rustling the treetops and chimes ringing. Each animal is given a wind chime, engraved with their name and date of transition.  Their spirit sings on in the forest as a reminder of their time here.  No sound is sweeter.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is any breed accepted?   Yes, we welcome any dog or other animal to be in the Garden.  Cats, birds or other companion animals are welcome.

How do I get my animal or animal's remains to Glen Highland Farm?    It is the guardian's responsibility to arrange for transport of the animal.  Those costs are not covered by GHF.

Can I send memorabilia for the site that will be protected and remain with my animal at the Garden?   Yes, anything you want preserved in memoriam can be accommodated...collars, pictures, toys, etc...we are happy to arrange the setting to represent the uniqueness of your animal.

Can I pick the place where my animal rests?  While we understand the desire to find the perfect spot for your beloved companion, we pride ourselves in the Garden atmosphere offering equal beauty in all the surroundings.  The forest area is so special, serene and dramatic that no matter where you look, it's a marvel for the senses.  So, we will carefully select the location of your animal's rest.  You can, of course, discuss the setting you'd prefer.

Is there a fee for the care and upkeep of the site? We charge $25 for the initial site work, creation of the memorial and chime.  That covers upkeep over time.

May I visit at any time?  Visitors are always welcome at the Farm though we would appreciate a call to notify us that you will be at The Garden of Resting Spirits.
