WE ARE LOOKING FOR VERY SPECIAL ADOPTERS who have exceptional skills and huge hearts to continue the healing that has begun at the Farm.

There are 14 Border Collies currently at GHF that need a special situation with incredible people who go beyond adopting a 'normal, well-adjusted BC'.  Each of these dogs has had a less than ideal start, making the real world a hard place.  So, they need patient people who see the victory in small achievements. They need people who know that the canine/human relationship is about two beings sharing one heartfelt experience. And, in the end, both are transformed, step by step, together.

It's easy to adopt a dog who has had a good life and through no fault of their own, lands in rescue. It takes courage, time and commitment to adopt a dog who needs help healing the hardest wounds.  Whether they have never lived in a house, ridden in a car, not been introduced to strangers properly or not well loved, they still want a person to call their own. They just can't jump into a real life 'normally'.

These marvelous Border Collies will give you their heart and soul..
if you give them a chance.

PEAK: On the streets of NYC, Peak has flourished at the Farm but still has handling issues if restrained or grabbed. He will also guard his food and toys from other dogs but not people.  Super smart and sweet, he just needs a savvy dog person to understand his handling issues.

CALEIGH: Living with an elderly couple, she never met strangers so will nip when overwhelmed with new people. Otherwise, she loves her person and was clearly adored.  She needs a quiet life with adults and someone who does not let people pressure her.

FLIP: A stray from NY, Flips gets overwhelmed with too many people and can nip when worried.  He is such a lover with his person and so playful but does need a person managing the environment to be sure he's not surprised by too much too fast.

ECHO, CELA, ZAN, MORGEN: Part of 167 confiscated Texas dogs, Echo, Cela,  Zan & Morgen are learning all about home life and loving the attention.  Each has a long way to go to feel safe outside their yards and homes.  They each need a small life without chaos, with a gentle person, a small yard, another BC and they'll be happy.
WYLER:  We have no history on Wyler but know him well since he's been at GHF over a year and changed dramatically.  He now loves toys, goes in the car, walks on a leash and meets lots of people. He loves attention. However, he will always be skittish and spooked with new people, ready to flee. Wyler needs a person to navigate life with him, keeping things simple without a lot of commotion.
KYE: A stray from PA, this boy loves life and people. He just needs to be loved and have a yard to explore. His neurological muscle tremors cause his back end to be weak so someone special will need to understand how he fatigues.

THERE ARE OTHERS AT GHF WHO NEED A SPECIAL PERSON, too
Foster, Hunter, Abby, Fletch, Bridget
