The
Canine Country Getaway
location
is a special, private part of the Farm acreage set aside for visiting
campers who want to be in the country on their own. Unlike large
campgrounds or parks, the Farm lodging accommodates seven individuals or
seven couples with their canine friends so it is very very private.
Season after season, we hear people marvel at this being the ideal
setting for them to unwind, relax and play in a gorgeous place that is
totally dog-friendly.

Glen Highland Farm is obviously designed for dogs
and dog lovers. There is no hassle over what your dog does or doesn't
do; instead it is about freedom! Many guests in fact, enjoy taking a
tour while here and even meeting the rescue dogs more personally.
And
the people joining you for a getaway are all dog lovers: we have had
guests come from as far away as Canada, Wisconsin, Florida; some making
the Farm their destination; others passing through while traveling; all
happy to enjoy a canine escape in the country. A few people have even
booked all the lodging for a friends and family getaway: the ultimate
private escape!

| Glen Highland Farm's
Canine Country
Getaway is a hidden treasure to be discovered!
Your dog can run freely
off leash through private trails, meadows, fields and forests and even
better, can play everywhere on the farm off leash.

Hi Lillie,
Just wanted to send an e-mail to say thank you again and we had a
fantastic time at Glen Highland Farm. We are looking forward to
booking again for camping next year. Rembrandt and Oscar
seemed to have a fantastic time!! I was surprised at how excellent
they did there off-leash. I would never do that here except in the
dog parks and in our yard, so it was a great treat for them. I think
they are still tired out!!!
Bonnie & John from NJ
Dear Lillie & John:
Mike and I just wanted to thank you for one of the best weekends we have
had in a long time!! Being at the camp was a piece of heaven for us; we
envy you!!
Mike & Nina, Pennsylvania
Hello there Lillie!
I wanted to write you (and John) to tell you what a wonderful time I had
at the Farm with Ben and Molly. You both have created an amazing getaway
for people just "be" with with their dogs and enjoy the amazing
scenery of the countryside. Everything about the camp experience was
thoughtfully done, from the water stations and cups, to the beach towels
on the chairs and a very comfortable RV to call home for the week I was
there. I loved the fact that the most pressing thing to address each day
was "which trail do we explore today?" Bravo to John for his
upkeep of the property.
And kudos to you and your work with the rescues. I was thrilled to have
been able to spend some time with some of the rescues - Rhodie the lovebug
and my favorite, Chas the curious, Chance the happy-go-lucky one, and Dale
the ball nut. (I see that Dale found a home!) I looked into their eyes and
what gentle souls gazed back. I also encountered sweet Roxie and Abby -
both on the tour, and around the paddocks the very active and very cute
Jake, big guy Palmer and Major who wanted to play frisbee with me and
Molly at the field. Thank you for that opportunity to volunteer. These
dogs are all amazing and wish them a bright future in a new home.
In the meantime, I was so inspired to share my photos and experiences on
the Farm with family and friends... That my first order of business upon
return home was to build a website to do just that. I would like to share
this with you. The site is available at the link below. This was a fun
project for me to create... everything about the Farm was magnificent and
I really want others to see. Please enjoy!

OUTDOOR
FUN |

Each trail leads you into a
wilderness wonderland that has been traversed by dogs and in fact,
the trails follow the routes the dogs showed us when we created
the Farm. Even the locations of the benches placed along the
trails were “paw-picked” by canine experts! |
|
| Dogs know
how to enjoy the great outdoors and are truly a joy to watch as they
dash and dart and explore the freshness of undisturbed country. Follow
their lead and you’ll have a real getaway!
For the sporting fans, the Farm
agility equipment is available for use anytime.
A complete course of obstacles, you can practice any aspect of the sport
you like and use each day to build greater skills or just have fun
challenging both you and your dog. If you love agility or want to try
it, it’s wonderful to have a course at your disposal and hard to find
anywhere else but here.

Abbie Tamber, is available to work with guests of the Farm on any aspect
of canine development. She teaches at the Canine
Country Camp and helps train the rescue dogs most in need.
Abbie is an outstanding clicker trainer and can problem solve on
behaviors as well as build better sport skills. She uses only positive

owns and operates Dogs on the Run, LLC in Oxford, New York. She has been
teaching manners classes since 1991 and agility seminars since
1995. Her current agility dog, a four year old JRT, named
Microburst actually comes when called and has taught her how to deal
with ENERGY. Although Abbie and Micro compete in NADAC and AKC their
main efforts are in USDAA, where they have earned an ADCH. They have
also qualified for the Grand Prix (USDAA Nationals) both years that they
have competed and for 2001 they were rated in the TOP TEN in
Jumpers.
Abbie is one of those special teachers who
can convince the average student that the rules of USDAA Snooker are
quite understandable and FUN!
