CANINE
DISCOVERY
A
mini-activity camp, 4 days & 3 nights
Translating
the Dog Experience
with Lillie Goodrich & Deb Norman
Your dog uses innate
senses to negotiate the world differently than you do. You can better
understand this spectacular canine advantage by discovering how their mind
works, their body reacts and how they perceive life with us. |
|
Deb Norman has been
teaching at the Farm for the last 3 years, bringing marvelous
understanding to campers who want to pursue agility for fun or
competitively. She is an outstanding teacher and dog lover.
Deb and Lillie offer
this special camp, joining her years of sport expertise and training with
Lillie's years of dog expertise in reading dogs and sensing them from a
unique orientation beyond training.
Lillie's camp sessions
provided such unique perspective that Deb coordinated a number of seminars
for her agility club in PA. Now, these two innovators bring two worlds
together in one amazing experience at the Farm |

|
| Enjoy
agility with a fresh vision and uncover the canine world with new eyes
of understanding. For the fun loving competitor or for anyone who
wants to work on behaviors and build a better canine relationship!
This
camp offers an in-depth understanding of dogs:
how they talk to each other and how they relate to people and the
environment. |
 |
You will discover the
language of the canine and what you are missing in uncovering the
“WHY” of what dogs do.
And, you will uncover the
energetics of how dogs respond. Living in a world without words means that
dogs ‘read’ the energy of everything around them. That’s how they
understand another dog or the humans they meet. |
| The
Canine Discovery camp sharpens your perceptions about the innate
brilliance in dogs, going way beyond the basics of dog training. |
| You’ll
see dogs interacting off-leash and on-leash to learn their language. And,
using the sport of agility as a backdrop, you will apply the energetics of
how dogs focus. Each day exercises and demonstrations provide first-hand
understanding of your dog and other dogs attending camp, as well as the
rescue dogs you’ll meet at Glen Highland Farm. |
 |
 |
If you
can ‘read’ dogs skillfully and recognize how the energy around them
impacts them, you can easily negotiate the world your dog experiences. You
can improve your relationship, lessen the confusion your dog handles and
solve situations before they become problematic for your dog. |
| Two
main areas will be explored:
READING
DOGS: By seeing dogs interacting naturally with each other,
your knowledge will increase dramatically to know how to spot how dogs
talk to each other – how do you know if dogs like each other; if they
are going to have a problem; how they negotiate over toys, food or you; or
if your dog is having trouble handling a situation. Your eyes become tuned
to see the meaning in head-turns, sniffing, yawning, turning, bowing, lip
curls, staring, ear twitches, the list goes on of a language worth
understanding so you can help your dog in a variety of situations. And,
you’ll witness the incredible clarity with which dogs talk to each other
using space and time.
THE
ENERGETICS OF DOGS: By letting go of the spoken word, you will
gain a snapshot of the intuitive life where your senses are heightened,
giving you laser-like focus on everything around you as well as broaden
your respect for how accurate dogs are in interpreting what goes on around
them. You’ll see first-hand how dogs react to people as well as space.
And, in the action of agility, you’ll uncover your role in the energetic
relationship. How your own clarity directly impacts their performance. |
